Question 1033968: When an angle is added to twice its complement and thrice its supplement, it exceeds the original angle by 490°. Find the angle.

Call the measure of the angle you need, x.
Its complement is 90-x.
Its supplement is 180-x.
Then we write
x + 2(90-x) + 3(180-x) = x + 490
Now solve for x...
x + 180 - 2x + 540 - 3x = x + 490
subtract the x, combine the rest...
720 - 5x = 490
subtract 720 and divide by -5
-5x = -230
x = 46 degrees
