Consider the problem as
a right angled triangle.
The width is the base of
triangle.
The height is the back of
the triangle.
The brace is the hypotenuse
Base^2 + back^2 = hypotenuse^2
45^2 + 55^2 = Hypotenuse^2
Hypotenuse^2 = 5050
Hypotenuse = √5050
Hypotenuse = 71.1 inches.
Brace = 71.1 inches
