Question 1016290: if angle A is 30 degrees more than 4 times the measure of angle B and the sum is 170 degrees, what is the measure of angle A and angle B?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
From the info in the problem, we can write
A = 30 + 4B and
A + B = 170
Substitute the first into the second and get
30 + 4B + B = 170
5B + 30 = 170
5B = 140
B = 28 degrees
A = 170 - 28 = 142 degrees
