Question 1005547: Hi, I need help with this question:
Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. One of the two interior angles on the same side of the transversal is four more than three times the other angle. Find the measure of the larger angle.
There is no picture for this.
I tried doing this:
x+4+3x=180
I got the answer to be 132, but the teacher said the answer as 136 degrees
She didn't even explain how. If you could help me with this, I could do better on a test.
Thank you.

----
Draw the parallel lines.
Draw the transversal
The two interior angles on the same side are supplementary.
x + (3x+4) = 180
4x = 176
x = 44
3x+4 = 136
