b.Write a system of equations for the two sisters distances.
c. How lon should the race be in order for it to be a close call.
I think b is
stella 14.3x - 50=y
and I am guessing
Tess is 12.5x=y

I think part a is stella 14.3x - 50=y
and I am guessing
Tess is 12.5x=y

Question 519603: I need some help with Linear Systems as word problems. I know how to do the work, I just need help setting up the equation for the problem.
- Rod has 40 coins, all dimes and quarters, worth $7.60. How many dimes and how many quarters does he have?
I use 'd' for dimes and 'q' for quarters.
For my first equation I got d+q=40. I don't know what the second equation is though.

Question 520397: Solving a system of 3 equations by elimination. 5x+2y=4 3x+4y+2z=6 7x+3y+4z=29
I took 3x=4y+2z and multiplied it by 7 getting 21x+28y+14z=42 then did 7x+3y+4z=29 and multiplied by 3 to get 21x+9y+12z=87 but i don't know what to do next.

Question 522372: I'm currently working on Lesson 5-6 Sums and Differences of Rational Expressions. It's relatively easy, I'm not having too much of a problem with it. Here's the problem:
17. a/bc + b/ac + c/ab
the answer is a^2 + b^2 + c^2 over abc.
i'm confused how they got that. I can almost unerstand. One of those tip of the tongue kind of things. Please help!
