The standard slope intercept form of an equation is given by,
y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
So rewrite the given equation in the standard form.....
x + y = 6
subtract x from both sides...
==> x + y - x = 6 - x
==> y = 6 - x
which can be written as,(by rearranging terms)
y = -x + 6
or y = -1x + 6
Compare this equation with the standard equation....
them you have,
m = -1 and b = 6
That is, slope = -1 and y-intercept = 6
