SOLUTION: If xy=-3 and x2+ y2=12 then (x-y)2=?
note: the "2" behind the varibles mean squared. and the (x-y)2 means squared.

xy=-3
2xy=-6
x2+y2=12
x2+y2-2xy=12-2xy
(x-y)2=12-*-6
(x-y)2=12+12
(x-y)2=24

xy=-3
2xy=-6
x2+y2=12
x2+y2-2xy=12-2xy
(x-y)2=12-2*-3
(x-y)2=12+6
(x-y)2=18
