Question 876745: 3-4x/5=2
i have "solved" it multiple times but when i put my answer instead of x i never get 2
Answer by harpazo(655) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3-4x)/5=2
5* (3-4x)/5 = 2*5
(3-4x) = 10
-4x = 10-3
-4x = 7
x = -7/4
Let us go back to the original problem and plug -7/4 for x.
(3-4(-7/4))/5 = 2
(3 + 7)/5 = 2
10/5 = 2
2 = 2
I got 2 on both sides.
This means the answer for
x is- 7/4.
