Question 786969: I need help finding the intersection of y=x^2-3x-8 and y=2
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graphs (equations) intersect where they are equal. Set the equations equal to each other. Solve for x. Plug the value(s) back into either equation to find the y value. In this case you already know the y value is 2, so you can skip the final step.

(x+2)(x-5)=0

x=-2 and x=5

The points of intersection are (-2,2) and (5,2)
