Question 696250: find the common solutions algebraically y=x^2+5 and y=2x+4
Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=x^2+5 and y=2x+4
2X+4=X^2+5
X^2-2X-4+5=0
X^2-2X+1=0
(X-1)(X-1)=0
X-1=0
X=1 ANS.
PROOF:
Y=2*1+4
Y=2+4=6 ANS.
6=1^2+5
6=1+5
6=6
