Question 6857: If y = 39 and y = -x/4 + 15, what is the value of X?
Answer by longjonsilver(2297) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y = -x/4 + 15
39 = -x/4 + 15 --> subtract 15 from both sides
24 = -x/4 --> multiply both sides by 4
-x = 96 --> multiply both sides by -1
x = -96
the final 2 steps could be done in one...multiply by -4, but i split it into 2 for sake of ease.
