Question 680464: how do u solve for x
(X^2/16)+((3x-3)/25)=1
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(X^2/16)+((3x-3)/25)=1
-------
Multiply thru by 16*25 to get:
25x^2 + 16(3x-3) = 25*16
-------
25x^2 + 48x -3*16 - 25*16 = 0
-----
25x^2 + 48x - 28*16 = 0
------
Positive solution: x = 3.38069..
Negative solution: x = -5.3
