Distribute the -3
-3x - 3 - x/2 + 3/2 < 0
...
Multiply the entire equation by 2 to be rid of the fractions
2(-3x) - 2(3) - 2(x/2) + 2(3/2) < 2(0)
-6x - 6 - x + 3 < 0
-7x - 3 < 0
-7x < 3
Divide both sides by -7 ***note the sign change for dividing by a negative***
