Okay i dont know what it is with fractions but this one has me stumped, thank you in advance for your help!
(1) 1+1/5y =2/15y+ 3/2

Multiply every term by 30y and that will get rid of all fractions:
1(30y)+1(30y)(1/5y)=(30y)(2/15y)+(30y)(3/2) simplifying, we get:
30y+6=4+45y Subtract 45y and 6 from both sides:
30y-45y+6-6=4-6+45y-45y collecting like terms:
-15y=-2 divide both sides by -15

y=2/15

ck
Substitute y=2/15 into (1):
1+1/(5(2/15))=2/(15(2/15))+3/2=
1+1/(2/3)=2/2+3/2
1+3/2=1+3/2

Hope this helps----ptaylor
