Question 600960: what is the equation of the line plots (-2,1) (0,1)
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
-2 1 0 1

slope m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
( 1 - 1 )/( 0 - -2
( 0 / 2 )
m= 0
The required line passes through both the points. So we select one point and plug it with the slope
Plug value of the slope and point( -2 , 1 ) in
Y = m x + b
1.00 = 0 * -2 + b
1.00 = -0 + b
b= 1

So the equation will be
Y = 1
