Question 54339: Show that if a│m and a│n then a│(m-n).
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Show that if a│m and a│n then a│(m-n).
===============
a|m means m=ka where k is a whole number.
a|n means n=pa where p is a whole number.
Then m-n=ka-pa=(k-p)a
But k-p is a whole number
Therefore m-n is whole number of "a's".
Therefore a}m-n
