Question 542421: Problem: y=2x
y=x^2
Question: How would you solve using substitution?

Substitute one value of y into the other equation. Then solve for x in that equation.

Substitute y=x^2 into y=2x. It becomes...

x(x-2) = 0

x=0

x-2=0
x=2

Find the values of y that come from those x values.

y=2(0)=0

y=2(2)=4
