12/x - 7 = -27/x +6
The best way to deal with it is to get rid of the fractions. You do that by using the LCD which in this case is x.
12/x - (7*x)/x = -27/x + (6*x)/x
12-7x = -27+6x Now combine like terms
13x = 39
x = 39/13
x = 3
