I think b is
stella 14.3x - 50=y
and I am guessing
Tess is 12.5x=y

stella distance = tess distance + 50 ft.
14.3t = 12.5t + 50

Solve the equation for "r":
14.3t - 12.5t = 50
1.8t = 50
t = 27.78 sec

Tina's distance 12.5*27.78 = 347.22 ft
Stella's distance 14.3*27.78 = 397.22 ft
