the domain is the group of numbers that are fed onto some function ___ usually the x values

the range is the group of numbers that result from the operation of the function ___ usually the y values

y = 2x / (x + 1) ___ when x=-1 , the function (value of y) is undefined (we can't divide by zero)
so the domain would be all reals EXCEPT -1
