Hi
Let x represent
Using the point-slope formula, to find slope
(5, 12) and
(-7, 14) m = (12-14) / [5-(-7)] = -2/12 = -1/6
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = (-1/6)x + b |using ordered pair Pt(5,12) to solve for b
12 = -5/6 + b
12 5/6 = b
y = (-1/6)x + 77/6
