Find an equation of the line through the point (4,5) and perpendicular to the line passing through the points (-1,3) and (2,9).
The slope of the line thru the given points is [9-3]/[2+1]=2
So, the slope of the line perpendicular to it is m=-1/2
The line has the form y=mx+b with x=-1,y=3, m=(-1/2)
Therefore: 3=(-1/2)(-1)+b
b=5/2
Your equation is y=(-1/2)x+5/2
