f(x)=3x^2+2x+5, Evaluate f(3) and f(-5).
Just substitute 3 for x and simplify:

f(3)=3(3)^2+2(3)+5

f(3)=3(9)+6+5

f(3)=27+6+5

f(3)=38

------

Just substitute -5 for x and simplify:

f(-5)=3(-5)^2+2(-5)+5

f(-5)=3(25)+(-10)+5

f(-5)=75-10+5

f(-5)=70

That's all there is to it!
