Question 330742: I'm sure that this is a simple problem. I just dont remember how to do these type of problems ,it's been a while since I've worked with algebra. My instructions were to graph each pair of equations in the same coordinate plane. x+y=6
x-y=4 I started to use y=mx+b and the x y table, I'm just not sure if im doing it right,and I would really appreciate your help!

I'm sure that this is a simple problem. I just dont remember how to do these type of problems ,it's been a while since I've worked with algebra. My instructions were to graph each pair of equations in the same coordinate plane. x+y=6
x-y=4
---------
It's 2 equations, so it's 2 straight lines.
Find 2 points for each, and draw a line thru them.
x+y = 6
Pick any 2 values for x and find y, eg
x = 0, y = 6 --> (0,6)
x = 6, y = 0 --> (6,0)
Plot them, draw a line thru them.
---------------
Do the same for x-y = 4
Where they intersect is the solution for the system.
