If there is a common difference, the sequence is linear.
If there is a common multiple, the sequence is geometric

a. 1,6,11,16,21,...common diff. of 5 , so it is linear

b. -1,7,15,23,31,...common diff. of 8, so it is linear
------------------------------
c. 1,21,31,41,...no common diff
------------------------------
