y=3x-18 ...(1)
4x+2y=24
Dividing by 2, 2x+y = 12 ...(2)
(1)-(2)=> -2x = 3x-18-12
-2x-3x = -30
-5x = -30
5x = 30
x = 30/5
x = 6
Substituting in (1),
y = 3*6-18
y = 18-18
y = 0
Therefore the solution is x=6, y=0
