Step 1. Add -16 to both sides of the equation

3x%2B16%2B%28-16%29%3C8%2B%28-16%29

3x%3C-8

Step 2. Divide 3 to both sides of the equation

3x%2F3%3C-8%2F3

x%3C-8%2F3 ANSWER

Step 3. The graph on the number line is shown below.

The graph goes from the red dot to pass the green dot.
