Question 188202: x=2y+1
3x+y=17
Answer by Juhi(44) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=2y+1
3x+y=17 - (i)
putting x=2y+1 in (i),
3(2y+1) + y = 17
6y + 3 + y = 17
7y = 17 - 3
7y = 14
y = 14/7
y = 2
putting value of y in (i),
3x + 2 = 17
3x = 15
x = 5
hence, x=5 and y=2
