Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2-x/5+1=x/3
2-x/5+1-x/3=0
-x/5-x/3=-2-1
(-3x-5x)/15=-3
-8x/15=-3
-8x=-3*15
-8x=-45
x=-45/-8
x=45/8 Answer.
Proof:
2-(45/8)/5+1=(45/8)/3
2-(45/8)(1/5)+1=(45/8)(1/3)
2-45/40+1=45/24
3-9/8=15/8
3=15/8+9/8
3=24/8
3=3
