the equation of y = -8 means the value of y is always -8 no matter what the value of x is.
on the graph, the equation y = -8 would be a horizontal line with coordinates (x,-8) where x could be any value.

the equation of x = 6 means the value of x is always 6 no matter what the value of y is.
on the graph, the equation x = 6 would be a vertical line with coordinates (6,y) where y could be any value.
