Multiply: [ (1/2)x+(1/3)] [(1/2)x-(1/4)]
Rewriting we have:
[ (x/2)+(1/3)] [(x/2)-(1/4)]
Applying FOIL:
(x^2/4)+(x/8)+(x/6)-(1/12)
Converting each term to a common denominator of 24:
(6x^2/24)+(3x/24)+(4x/24)-(2/24)
Combining fractions:
(6x^2+3x+4x-2)/24
Combining like-terms:
(6x^2+7x-2)/24
