A) 4x - 16y =4
B) -3x + 12y =-3
.
A)
4x=4+16y
x=4y+1
.
B)
-3(4y+1)+12y=-3
-12y-3+12y=-3
These are equations of the same line: y=(x-1)/4

Answer by KnightOwlTutor(293) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x-16y=4
divide all the terms in this equation by 4
X-4Y=1
add 4Y to both sides
X=1-4Y
Replace x with 1-4Y in the second equation
-3(1-4Y)+12Y=-3
Use the distributive property
-3+12Y +12Y=-3
add 3 to both sides
24Y=0
Y=0
relace y with 0
4x - 16y =4
4X=4 x=1
replace x=1 and y=0 in the second equation
-3x + 12y =-3
-3+0=-3
