Question 149845: Solve 3x + 4y = 8 for y
Then, when graphed this would would be a line. By examining your answer to this problem what is the slope and y-intercept of this line?

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x + 4y = 8
Subtract 3x from both sides:
4y = -3x + 8
Divide both sides by 2:
y = (-3/4)x + 2
.
The above is in the "slope intercept" form of:
y = mx + b
where
m is the slope
b is the y-intercept at (0,b)
.
The slope (m) is -3/4
The y-intercept is at (0, 2)
.
To graph it, this web site explains it in detail:
