:
Begin inside the brackets, multiply 2 times -7 and x. eliminates one set of brackets.
and you have:
-3[5 - 14 + 2x+ x] = -3x - (x+3)
:
Do the math inside the brackets:
-3(-9 + 3x) = -3x - (x+3)

Multiply what's inside the brackets
Remember, a neg outside the brackets changes the signs
+27 - 9x = -3x - x - 3

27 - 9x = -4x - 3

Some basic algebra, isolate x
+27 + 3 = -4x + 9x

Distribute to the parentheses:
-3[5-14+2x+x]=-3x-x-3
Distribute the 3
-15+42-6x-3x=-3x-x-3
Combine like terms
27-9x=-4x-3
Add 9x to both sides
27=5x-3
Add 3 to each side
30=5x
Divide by 5
x=6

Find the Common denominator: 5(2)(3)=30
24x+24/30=75x-15/30-10x/30
