Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Y=6X+5
NOW SUBSTITUTE (6X+5) FOR Y IN THE OTHER EQUATION & SOLVE FOR X.
5X-2(6X+5)=9
5X-12X-10=9
-7X=9+10
-7X=19
X=19/-7
X=-19/7 ANSWER.
Y=6*-19/7+5
Y=-114/7+5
Y=(-114+35)/7
Y=-79/7 ANSWER.
PROOF
5*-19/7-2*-79/7=9
-95/7+158/7=9
(-95+158)/7=9
63/7=9
9=9
