If x is the number of nickels.


Then the number of dimes is 2x, while the number of quarters is 2*((2x) = 4x.


The total in the bank is 5x + 10*(2x) + 25*(4x) = 5x + 20x + 100x cents.


The minimum total is at x = 1.
