Let x = the volume of the 10% solution.


Then the basic equation is


    0.1*x + 0.25*1 = 0.15(x+1)


saying that total volume of the pure acid in the mixture is the sum of the volumes of the pure acid in ingredients.


From the equation


    x =  = 2.


ANSWER.  2 liters of the 10% acid solution.


CHECK.   0.1*2 + 0.25*1 = 0.45 = 0.15*(2 + 1) = 0.15*3.   ! Correct !
