X - Y = 27    degrees.

----------------------------Add the two equations and obtain X.


Then substitute the found value of X into EITHER of the two equations and evaluate Y.

Let larger angle be L
Then smaller = 90 - L
We then get: L - (90 - L) = 27
L - 90 + L = 27
2L = 117
