pls. help me to answer: the supplement of the angle is 8 more than twice its complement. What is the angle?
—————————————————————————————————————
Let A=the angle
Supplement is 180-A
Complement is 90-A
180-A = 8+2(90-A) LHS from "the supplement is …" ; RHS from "8 more than twice its complement"
This can be solved easily to get degrees
===
Check: 180-8 = 172
8+2(90-A) = 8 + 2(82) = 8+164 = 172 (ok)
