For the line 3x+2y-5=0, find the obtuse angle the line that makes with the positive direction of the x-axis.
-----------
find the slope of the line.
The tangent of the angle is the slope.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
slope intercept form is
first 2y=-3x+5
y=(-3/2)x+2.5
The slope is -1.5
The x-intercept is where y=0 and is 1.5x=2.5, x=5/3
The y-intercept is where x=0 and is y=2.5
the acute angle made has a tangent of 2.5/(5/3)=1.5
arc tan (1.5)=56.31 deg
the obtuse angle is the supplement or 123.69 deg
