Question 1073057: A line with a slope of -5/2 passes through the points (k,3) and (1,-2) find the value of k
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the slope is -5/1-k and that equals -5/2
The minus sign cancels, and the 5s cancel
Therefore 1/(1-k)=(1/2) and cross multiplication give 2=1-k and k=-1
(-1,3) and (1,-2) give a slope of -5/2.
