Question 1045181: What is the formula used for solving a compound linear inequality, expressing the result as a graph, in set-builder, and interval notation. Thank you so much!!
For example:
1/2y + 2 > 1/3y - 4

That is not a compound inequality; but to solve requires the same (almost) properties that you may already know.

1/2y + 2 > 1/3y - 4

(1/2)y + 2 > (1/3)y - 4

LCD is 6, so multiply members by 6.
