Question 1035725: im not sure if i selected the right topic but i need to solve this math equation by completing the square the problem is -3x squared+18x=-30
Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-3x^2 + 18x = -30
:
divide both sides of = by -3
:
x^2 - 6x = 10
:
divide -6 by 2 and square it, then add result to both sides of =
:
x^2 - 6x + 9 = 10 + 9
:
(x - 3)^2 = 19
:
now take square root of both sides of =
:
x - 3 = + or - square root(19)
:
***********************
x = 3 + square root(19)
x = 3 - square root(19)
