Hi there,
Make the Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys = x
and the Cleveland Brown's jerseys = y
9x + 3y = 89940......(1)
12x + 2y = 113930....(2)
Multiply (1) by 2 and (2) by 3
18x + 6y = 179880.....(1)
36x + 6y = 341790.....(2)
Subtract (1) from (2)
18x = 161910
x = 8995
Substitute x = 8995 into (1)
9x + 3y = 89940......(1)
9(8995) + 3y = 89940
80955 + 3y = 89940
3y = 89940 - 80955
3y = 8985
y = 2995
A Steeler's jersey costs $89.95
A Brown's jersey costs $29.95
Hope this helps :-)
